September 2023 Benefit night at Culinary Dropout Tempe with Dr. Laurie Marker
A super fun evening dining for cheetahs! We all enjoyed getting to know each other a bit more and relax over some delicious food. Thanks Tempe/Phoenix/Tucson friends for coming out and dining to raise money for CCF. Let's do it again soon!

September 2023 Saving Cheetahs, Making the Wild a Better Place REID Park zoo
Dr. Marker's enthusiasm for saving cheetahs inspires us all! It was great to be back at our local zoo for Dr. Laurie Marker's first stop in Arizona on her 2023 CCF fall tour. The evening event was well attended with longtime supporters and lots of new faces. Dr. Marker shared the tireless work CCF is doing worldwide. From Namibia to the Horn of Africa and India CCF continues to address issues and establish science-based solutions to save wild cheetahs. Thank you REID Park zoo for always hosting a great event with Cheetah Kids and the CCF AZ Chapter.

Keeping Wild Cheetahs, Wild event, Phoenix Zoo
Dr. Laurie Marker's fall tour focused on the many successes CCF has in its holistic approach to saving wild cheetahs. She highlighted the on-going illegal wildlife pet trade crisis and the need for funding to combat this issue and secure long term care for the confiscated cubs. Great to see so many of our AZ supporters and lots of new faces too. It will take lots of people to care and support our efforts to keep wild cheetah populations for future generations. Thank you Phoenix Zoo for hosting a great event with the CCF AZ chapter & Cheetah Kids!

2021 Cheetah Kids joined CCF Brian Badger for the CCF Kids' Conservation Conversations, "Let's Keep the Wild, Wild" Spring virtual tour
For two Saturdays in a row we were special guests on the CCF's KIDS' Conservation Conversations – Let’s Keep the Wild, Wild ZOOM hosted by Brian Badger, CCF Director of Conservation and Outreach. We got to meet many young supporters who love cheetahs as much as we do.
2021 International Cheetah Day - Dec. 4th REID Park Zoo w/CCF AZ chapter
We had a great day at the zoo talking about cheetahs and the need for organizations like the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Lots of people, young and old, expressed their love for cheetahs but were unaware of their low population numbers and struggles to survive. The day emphasized the need for raising awareness and increasing support for wildlife conservation as ongoing and important. Thanks to the community for showing interest in helping to save wild cheetahs and the zoo for being a partner in conservation.

2021 CCF's "Save the Cheetah" virtual 5k walk/run
We had great participation for the "Save the Cheetah" virtual 5k walk/run. Members of the Arizona chapter and supporters joined together to form the ARIZONA team with participants in Nebraska, Michigan and Arizona. It was a great way to show support for saving wild cheetahs and get some exercise. Thank you to everyone who joined in. Enjoy wearing that awesome CCF cheetah medal!
2020 CCF's Distinguished Young Conservation Hero award
Honored to be Cheetah Conservation Fund award recipients. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to honor CCF’s supporters like Cameron and Kristen in our 30th anniversary year,” said Dr. Laurie Marker, Cheetah Conservation Fund’s Founder and Executive Director. In celebration of their 30th anniversary the Cheetah Conservation Fund hosted it's first-ever virtual gala titled, Cheetah 2020- Focus on the Future, on Saturday, October 3rd. It was a celebratory all-day event where CCF staff shared their accomplishments made over the years involving the many holistic conservation strategies and community programs aimed at saving wild cheetahs. It was a great event of cheetah lovers and international CCF supporters.

Cameron & Kristen received a beautiful cheetah print by Anne London in recognition for the CCF's Distinguished Young Conservation Hero award.
March 2019 Tasting & Tapas for Cheetahs event
Cheetah Kids hosted Dr. Laurie Marker at the Wilhelm Family Vineyards at Ventana for an evening of cheetah news and wine tasting and tapas. Dr. Marker shared good news about the Cheetah Conservation Fund's successful 25 years of their Livestock Guarding Dog program and the re-wilding of several orphan cheetahs.
She also shared about the Illegal pet trade making a negative impact on the wild cheetah population. It has become a huge problem in the Horn of Africa. CCF is presently working in Somaliland to support and educate local Somalilanders to care for the very young and vulnerable wild cheetah cubs confiscated from smugglers.
April 2017 Wild About Cheetahs event at The LOFT Cinema
Special screening in Tucson about Cheetahs. Thank you Tucson for coming out to support Wild About Cheetahs at the LOFT Cinema. Cheetah Kids hosted an evening with Dr. Laurie Marker and presented a special screening of Richard Wiese's Born to Explore featuring the Cheetah Conservation Fund.

April 2016 25 years of Cheetah Conservation event, REID Park Zoo
We had another sold out event and great support at the 25 years of Cheetah Conservation event with Dr. Laurie Marker. The night consisted of African crafts & jewelry, cheetah merchandise and books for sale and a multi-media talk from Dr. Marker. She presented the holistic programs of Cheetah Conservation Fund and how they have grown and adapted to help save cheetahs over the last 25 years. The event raised over $13,000. The money goes directly to CCF's integrated programs to help save wild cheetahs. A BIG thank you to everyone who supported us!
February 2016 Brian Badger of CCF Visits Arizona
Brian brings his cheetah charm to Tucson. Brian Badger, the operations manager of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, made a quick stop in Arizona. He visited both the REID Park Zoo and the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum toured and gave an entertaining and informative talk to docents. We all enjoyed his humor and cheery smile!
September 2014 A Future for Cheetahs event at REID Park zoo
Great to see familiar faces and some new cheetah fans. Dr. Laurie Marker returns to Tucson to give our community an update on her work in Namibia saving cheetahs. Dr. Marker introduced her new book, "A Future for Cheetahs" and offered signings. She brought beautiful African jewelry, crafts and books from Namibia to sell. The items are always a big hit. The event brought in over $6,000. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and help save cheetahs. Monies raised goes directly to Cheetah Conservation Fund.
October 2013 Matti Nghikembua of CCF visits Arizona
Cheetah expert Matti shared his knowledge about cheetahs. Matti Nghikembua, the education officer of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, made a stop in Arizona. He visited and toured both the REID Park Zoo and the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum before speaking at a private dinner hosted by Cheetah Kids. Matti shared a song with us and lots of cheetah images from CCF's camera traps. Super fun evening!

2012 Cheetah Kids visits Wild Wonders
A roadtrip to Bonsall, CA to meet Victor the cheetah Cheetah Kids met and interviewed Jackie Navarro, Executive Director at Wild Wonders. She spends much of her time visiting schools, libraries and public venues to spread the word about wild animals and the need to respect, protect and save them. She's a real wildlife hero! We were fortunate to meet Victor the cheetah. Victor is Wild Wonders' ambassador educational cheetah that travels with Jackie to inspire kids of all ages to be better stewards of our environment. He's a really beautiful cheetah. Check out the video highlighting Victor & Wild Wonders.

7th Annual Cheetah Conservation Fund's
Run for the Cheetah Event
Cheetah Kids participated in the Run for the Cheetah for the fifth time. It was great to see familiar faces and awesome cheetah friends. Cameron and Kristen helped Claudia (CCF AZ Chapter Lead) present awards to the 5k runners. Awards went not only given to the fastest but also the oldest and youngest runners.
A Great Event Wraps Up
After 7 years, the "Run For the Cheetah" event comes to an end.The Run for the Cheetah was a fun and exciting community event designed to raise awareness about the endangered cheetah and to raise funds to support the Cheetah Conservation Fund's programs. It was a great way to engage people of all ages and champion the cause to save cheetahs. A dedicated group of volunteers organized this event each year in Phoenix, AZ. Cheetah Kids was fortunate to be a part of it for five years. We meet many of our cheetah friends at these races, many who are still supporting the cause today.

April 2010 Cheetah Kids at Earth Day Festival 2010
It was a great day at the 16th annual Earth Day! We made some new friends and raised money for the cheetahs. We introduced a challenge with the spot poster to put the spots back on the cheetah to help save cheetahs. We offered 'Cheetah Spot' wooden nickels for $1 and with each purchase of nickels one spot on the cheetah was colored in. Special thanks to our cheetah friend Liz and the DC chapter of the Cheetah Conservation Fund for putting spots back on the cheetah.
April 2010 Wild About Cheetahs event at REID Park zoo
Wild About Cheetahs was a SOLD OUT event!We were fortunate to host Dr. Marker's visit Tucson during her CCF Spring tour to help our community learn about wild cheetahs and the challenges they face daily in their African ecosystem.
Wild About the Cheetah was a great evening with zoo creatures, Mexican food, silent auction and Dr. Marker's talk about what she's doing in Namibia, Africa to help save wild cheetahs from extinction. Her presentation included beautiful cheetah videos & photos - many of Chewbakka, her Ambassador Cheetah. Monies raised are donated to CCF.

April 2010 6th Annual Cheetah Conservation Fund's Run for the Cheetah event
Exciting to have Dr. Laurie Marker at the Run for the Cheetah. This year's event had an extra air of excitment with Dr. Marker and an Anatolian Shepherd dog there. Dr. Marker blew the horn at the start of the 5k race and shared with event goers the value of Anatolian Shepherd dogs to cheetahs. The Cheetah Kids booth did well again raising money for cheetahs and the CCF. We had a ton of fun with our cheetah friends and Kristen loved being a 'cheetah' for the day. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success.
2009 - 2010 Brownie Troop Fundraiser
Cheetah Kids' Kristen shares her love of cheetahs with her Brownie Troop 1861 The Brownie Troop donated $400 to the Cheetah Conservation Fund and Dr. Laurie Marker. The girls choose to sponsor the resident cheetah Rohini Talala. The money will be used to take care of her at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Fun Note: We gifted a framed photo to Dr. Marker. It currently hangs in the Cheetah Conservation Fund's Haas Family Veterinary Clinic in Namibia.

5th Annual Cheetah Conservation Fund's
Run for the Cheetah event
Beautiful morning raising awareness and funds for wild cheetahs.The Run for the Cheetah event has grown to become a popular Spring time event in Phoenix. It is fun to see as the event draws all types of animal and cheetah lovers. Many dress in costume or sport a tail. :) Kristen was excited to get her face painted as a cheetah.
We enjoyed being with our cheetah supporters. The Cheetah Kids booth raised $355 to help save the wild cheetahs. All money raised goes to the CCF to help save cheetahs.
April 2008 4th Annual Cheetah Conservation Fund's Run for the Cheetah event
A warm sunny morning in Phoenix brings out lots of cheetah supporters. Dr. Laurie Marker sent an email to Cameron wishing him good luck on race day and attached a photo of Namibian kids wishing good luck at the race. Many people came out to support saving cheetahs and enjoyed a morning of cheetah focused fun. The Cheetah Kids booth raised $320 to help save the wild cheetah in Namibia, Africa. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the run a success!
April 2007 3rd Annual Cheetah Conservation Fund's Run for the Cheetah event
Cheetah Kid's debuts it's first booth with great support.A BIG thank you to all who came out!! The day was full of great fun as families came together to help the Cheetah Conservation Fund in their efforts to help save cheetahs. An even bigger thank you to all who supported out Cheetah Kids booth! We raised $505 for the Cheetah Conservation Fund. That translates to $3,800 Namibian Dollars! Cameron presented the check to CCF's Claudia Whitehead (Arizona Chapter President) and Matti Nghikembua, CCF's Senior Research Assistant visiting from Namibia.
